Since we are home with our kids, let's make some friendly animal toasts for our kids + ourselves. They not only look happy, they make your belly happy. Totally promise. Make all four or just one, either way let's have some fun.
4 Woodland Animal Toast Recipes:
1: Peanut butter bear toast. Spread peanut butter on your toast. Add banana slices for the ears and nose + blueberries for the eyes. *Substitute with Sunflower seed butter for peanut or tree-nut allergies.
2: Hummus owl toast. Simple hummus recipe: add all ingredients in the blender and blend until well combined: one can of chickpeas, strained. One can of chickpeas including aquafaba, 3 Tbsp hemp seeds, 2 Tbsp lemon juice, 1 Tbsp olive oil, 2 tsp sea salt, 2 tsp cracked black pepper, 2 tsp garlic, 2 tsp paprika, 2 tsp dried chives. Spread the hummus on the toast, add sliced radishes for the eyes + slice tri-colored carrots into triangles for feathers + nose + slice small half moons out of the carrots for eyes + sprinkle dried chives on the belly.
3: Guac owl. Mash an avocado with 2 tsp sea salt, 2 tsp cracked black pepper, 2 tsp garlic + 2 tsp dried chives. Spread that guac on the toast, add sliced radishes for the eyes + slice tri-colored carrots into matchsticks for feathers + nose + slice half-moon carrots for the tops of the feathers.
4. Baby bear toast. Spread dairy-free cream cheese on the toast + add banana slices for the ears, blueberries for the eyes and nose + slice strawberries into triangles for a bow.
Are you making #toasttuesday a thing in your house? Prep the ingredients + let the kids create their own toast creations. Meal time + art time + creative problem solving time = Win Win Win.
Cheers!
