Baby Led Weaning Pesto Recipe

Basil?! The more the merrier! And, if it comes straight from the garden or the window sill, it’s that much more rewarding.
Dairy Free Basil Pesto
Ingredients:
1 Cup Fresh Basil Leaves (Packed)
2 Cups Walnuts (substitute pumpkin seeds (pepitas) for nut free)
Juice of 1 Lemon
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
1/4 Cup Macadamia Oil (or use Olive Oil)
1 Tbsp Granulated Garlic
1 Tsp Sea Salt (or to taste)
1 Tsp Black Pepper (or to taste)
Directions:
Add all ingredients into a blender + blend on high until well combined. Pour the mixture into a small pitcher or dish. Reserve about 1/4 cup in the blender for your little one.
For parents + big kids:
In bowls add: pasta, roasted veggies (carrots, potatoes, multi-colored potatoes, zucchini, radishes, chives + leeks), shredded cheese (if desired) + top with fresh basil pesto.
For Little Ones:
In a blender combine: 1/4 cup basil pesto + 1/4 cup noodles + 1/4 cup roasted veggies. Blend on high until well combined. Divide into small containers. Store in the fridge + freezer. Optional: sprinkle in powdered probiotics.
